Competition and Rewards
We are martial art enthusiasts in direct contact with authentic Japanese karate masters and other highly experienced instructors from around the world. Traditionally our style of karate does not embrace sporting competition. Our juniors do not fight to score points. Having said that the children are constantly challenged and there is a natural rivalry between KEBBA and other clubs we are friends with.
We know it is important to recognise hard work and dedication. As the
children progress their achievement is formally recognised by the award of
coloured belts and certificates. Of course they all want to be a black belt
one day!!
We appreciate that children like rewards therefore we also present cloth badges (like the cubs or brownies) when, for example, a child learns to tie their karate belt or is able to recite our student creed. Exceptionally good behaviour is also rewarded with stars which are sewn onto the karate suits and worn with pride!
